Midterm (with artist statement)
Throughout
the last two semesters, I have been slowly integrating the isolation of
subjects within my photos. Each image is unique with certain colors
overpowering others and different subjects taking up the foreground. My series
of photos highlight the loneliness and vacancy of these subjects, while also
expressing a similar color palette in each photo. By using a low number of
colors in the photographs, I am able to show the segregation of my ideas and
the colors that create them. While each photo can stand out on its own, being
put together in a group creates a much more cohesive organization. Those who
view this series should think about the absence within the pictures, as well as
a haunting and lonely feel throughout the subjects. Desolation can be viewed in
many different ways, how you view it is entirely up to you.
